UCAS CLEARING
If you don't really know much about what clearing is and who is eligible why not  click on the link below and what the UCAS video entitled how to use clearing.

Clearing can stressful so, to help you with this  I have put together some useful top tips. See below. In addition support will be available in college 15th  August Results day from 7 am.   However, if you would like to discuss anything beforehand you can make an appointment with Careers until the 17th July. Simply call  01709 300 600 and ask to be put through to Student Services and to make an appointment with Careers.

Top Tips for Clearing

·        Research if you have not already done so, by phoning the university or college to see why you were rejected from the courses that you applied to.

·        Research which universities you are interested in applying through clearing. Give them a ring to find out if the course you want to apply for is likely to go into clearing.

·        On the basis of this get a list together of your first, second and third choice universities.

·        Revisit your personal statement and if you are doing any new work experience update your personal statement. This is particularly important if you were rejected on the basis of not having enough work experience.

·        You may want to put an email ready to be sent when you get your result and you have identified a course that you wish to apply for. This should be sent to the appropriate admission staff outlining your contact details and the course you wish to apply for, together with an updated personal statement. (if appropriate)

·        Make sure you have the correct telephone number for clearingSome universities have a new number set up specifically for clearing.

·        Once you have your grades and if you have done better than your predicted grades you can consider applying to those universities that rejected you on the basis of your grades. (if they have places in clearing)

·        Keep calm on the day and don’t panic.

Support will be available in college from 7am onwards on 15th  August on results day.
