Year in Industry - Paid Work placements

The Year in Industry (YINI) offers students paid work placements in STEM industries.

YINI students are paid generally between £10,000 and £15,000 per annum pro rata, but some placements in other parts of the country will pay as much as £20,000.

Ideally we link the student and their career interests to the placements available which enables them to “test drive” their career before starting at university but also gives them invaluable experience and personal development.

Admissions tutors and employers value the skills gained.

The “typical” YINI student may be considering a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths and has a “can do” attitude.  It is low risk for them to apply to YINI as they do not have to defer their university placement until they have accepted an offer of a placement from a host company.

There is no cost to the student to apply and registrations at this stage of the process are invited to the interactive interview techniques/CV enhancement workshop we run.

Year 13 students are already registering at http://www.etrust.org.uk/the-year-in-industry/apply-now  ready to start placements in the summer of 2015.

Last year, we had placements in the North region that we were unable to fill due to a shortage of local students applying.  If they (or you) would like to find out more:
