 Apprentices will work with and learn about Global Software Delivery or IT Operations.
 Within  HSBC
Technology and Services, Global Software Delivery involves the 
development  and  delivery 
of high-quality,  customised banking
systems.  
 
The function provides tailored,
cost-competitive  and  robust 
banking  solutions and services
that offer a flexible  and  scalable 
framework  for delivering projects
on time, within budget  and  at the highest quality, meeting both the
current and future IT challenges facing HSBC.
IT  Operations  manages 
the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are  critical 
for  HSBC  employees 
and  customers  such as: cost-efficient hardware,  system 
software,  middleware and
databases, data centres, voice and 
data  networks,  ATMs,  desktops 
and  other  devices. 
IT  Operations comprises  the 
following  major  functions: 
Client  Services;  Enterprise Services and Architecture; Data
Centre and Service Management; Relationship Management; Project Management; and
Risk and Administration.
Opportunities post apprenticeship in Software Delivery:
Systems development, project management, systems analysis,
architecture or testing
Opportunities in IT Operations:
Telecommunications and networking,  technical 
systems  programming  and configuration, databases, systems 
operation  and  automation 
and  project  management.  
 
Entry requirements:
At
least 8 GCSEs (or equivalent) with English and Mathematics at Grade C or above
At
least 2 A levels (or equivalent) at or predicted Grade C or above
Strong
analytical and numerical skills
 
A passion for technology
 Ability
to deal with changing demands in a fast paced environment
 Good
communication skills
 Ability
to forge strong working relationships
 
Excellent customer focus
