You could be eligible for the Compact Scheme?

The Compact Scheme gives extra support if you face barriers to going to university. It provides help during the application process and beyond.


How does it work?

When you apply to Sheffield Hallam your teacher or tutor can submit additional information about your personal circumstances.

You then get extra support, including
  • a personal contact to help during the application process and answer any queries you have
  • a regular e-newsletter about Sheffield Hallam student life
  • exclusive visits to the University
  • special consideration during the admissions process – in specific circumstances only
  • interview workshops if you apply for health and social care, nursing, social work and QTS education courses

Who's eligible?

You must meet one or more of the following criteria to apply.
You can only study locally at Sheffield Hallam University because of
    • caring responsibilities
    • cultural reasons
    • financial difficulty due to low parental or personal income
    • disability related reasons
  1. You have experienced circumstances which have affected or interrupted your studies, such as serious illness or bereavement.
  2. You are a care leaver.

If you meet the above criteria please make an appointment with Careers at Student Services. You can apply for the scheme before you submit your UCAS application form.
