"Boston Castle was built as a shooting lodge by Thomas Howard 3rd Earl of Effingham in 1773 on the summit of Canklow.  The site provided the earl with splendid views across his manors and the valleys and peaks beyond.

The Castle has now been resturned to its former glory."
